Le stockage au cœur de l’explosion des données
Seagate Technology is one of the world’s leading mass-capacity storage companies, supplying hyperscalers and data centers where AI is driving an extraordinary increase in data creation and retention. Its HAMR-based Mozaic platform, already deployed with major hyperscalers, is designed to deliver increasingly dense and cost-efficient storage at scale.
Une baisse de cours qui masque une thèse structurelle
The roughly 3.7% weekly decline contrasts with Seagate’s recent operating momentum. Fiscal Q3 revenue rose 44% year on year to $3.1 billion, while free cash flow reached $953 million. The company also highlighted sustained data-center demand and its transition toward higher-capacity HAMR drives.
The investment opportunity therefore lies in a less obvious part of the AI infrastructure stack. GPUs generate the computing power, but AI also generates enormous quantities of data that must be stored economically. Seagate’s technology gives it exposure to this structural demand without requiring it to win the AI accelerator race.
Ce que cela signifie pour les investisseurs
The weekly sell-off may therefore be more interesting as a valuation or positioning signal than as evidence of a broken business model. The key risk remains the cyclical nature of storage and hyperscaler spending, but if AI-driven data growth persists, Seagate could remain an underappreciated beneficiary of the infrastructure cycle.
