A company with an unknown ecosystem

Unity Software

Unity has its own ecosystem with about 2.2 billion users worldwide. The company’s universe is accessed mostly by developers and some end-users of apps.

In more recent times, Unity has been adopted by architects and engineers as a collaborative tool for design. Other industries, such as manufacturing and the automotive industry, are using the software to design and market products in 3D. These real-time workspaces could go much further as augmented and virtual reality tech advances. The advantages for the companies using Unity-based protocols are multiple: the virtual environment allows design review, testing, and training.

The company is also exploring other opportunities, such as the virtualization of concerts, sporting events, and other live-stream events.

Unity has some USD 1.8 billion in cash and equivalents on hand, and it is debt free. Amongst the broader investor’s community, Unity is not a well-known name, but its software could become an increasingly important piece of the economy as the digital world starts to interconnect with the real world more and more.
