Adidas AG (ADS) – Update

The adidas group has a portfolio of brands including adidas, Reebok, Taylor Made-adidas Golf and Reebok-CCM Hockey. It key brands, adidas and Reebok, account for around 90% of group sales. Footwear and clothing account for about 45% of sales each. The wholesale and retail channels contribute respectively around 63% and 26% of revenue. The preliminary FY14 results (23 January) were in line with expectations. Given its strong business exposure in Eastern Europe and Russia, the figures provided were considered as highly positive

Additional positive guidance was given during the final publication of the FY14 figures and at the same time, the management introduced positive FY15 guidance: MSD growth for revenue at constant currencies, gross margin between 47.5% and 48.5%, operating margin between 6.5% and 7.0% and a net income increase of between 7% and 10%.
