For the last 10 years, Facebook has engineered in the virtual model with the outcome being its subsidiary Oculus. While no precise figures about Oculus’s business are disclosed, one can estimate that much of FB’s “other” revenues are due to Oculus—this “other” part is a sizeable USD 1.8 billion.
Oculus Quest 2 sells for a little less than USD 300 and is interconnected with the user’s Facebook account. The market size for this product is sizeable as FB can directly access some 3.3 billion potential users. The roll-out of Quest 2 could, once again, fast-track Facebook revenues.
