According to some media reports (Reuters / Bloomberg), Syngenta AG and Monsanto Co. have engaged investment bankers to assist them in the possible take-over transactions. This morning, it was said that Monsanto estimates the fair value of Syngenta AG at USD 45 billion, which is about CHF 450 per share. The take-over of Syngenta by Monsanto would generate a powerhouse in agro-chemicals and in seeds.
The combined company would have a highly efficient and world-wide distribution network and it is for reason that we estimate the purchase price of CHF 450 per share is hugely underestimated.
