Verizon is the second largest Telecom provider in the US. The company also offers complementary services such as radio link and others.

VZ has about 101.2 million retail customers, 10 million commercial customers, and another 10 million for its radio links and related services.   VZ has decided not to enter into a price war with AT&T. Instead, it has decided to focus on high-quality services for mobile applications.  

Recently, the company has completed the development of a unique system which provides highly calibrated consumer behaviour analyses. Data is gathered through its own customers as well as through customer links, and the results are sold to third parties. The company also invests in developing and strengthening its own network on an ongoing basis with the result that VZ has one of the strongest customer coverage rates across the continent.

Through these developments, the company intends to become the key provider in the big data segment, which makes VZ an attractive long-term investment opportunity.
