American Water Works is the largest and most geographically diverse publicly-traded water utility in the US. It provides water, wastewater and related services to approximately 15 million people in 46 states and has grown through capital investment and the acquisition of water/ wastewater systems. The Regulated Businesses contribute approximately 85% of revenue. Market Based Businesses include the Homeowners Services and Military Services Groups. These businesses provide water/wastewater services to military bases, municipalities, utilities and industrial customers, accounting for approximately 15% of revenue.
